Here's a helpful guide for what to do immediately after a car accident:
1. Stop the car promptly – failing to do so is an offense.

3. Check for injuries to yourself and passengers.
4. If it's a minor collision with no injuries, make a note of it for future reference.
5. Call the police and ambulance if needed, especially if there are injuries or the road is blocked.
6. Stay as calm as possible, take deep breaths, and try to assess the situation.
7. Avoid apologizing or admitting fault until you fully understand what happened.
8. Call the police if:
- The other driver leaves without giving details.
- You suspect the other driver is uninsured, under the influence, or caused the collision intentionally.
9. Exchange motoring details:
- Share name, address, and insurance information with everyone involved.
- Take down passenger and witness details.
- Verify ownership of the other vehicle if not owned by the driver.
